JCSS Foundation Announces August Grant Recipients

The Jackson County School System Foundation has awarded a record $8,000 in staff grants during the August award season. The Foundation Board noted a tie among recipients in the Emily Dantzler Literacy Leaders category and voted to fund both grants, accordingly.
The JCSS Foundation awards grants in seven categories - Literacy, Physical Education, Community Engagement, CTAE, Visual & Performing Arts and Elementary and Secondary STEM/STEAM in August and February. Each grant is worth $1,000 to support strategic initiatives throughout the school system.
The Foundation would like to congratulate the following recipients:
Emily Dantzler Literacy Leader Grant: Ginger Duren, Pharos Alternative Program
Emily Dantzler Literacy Leader Grant: Abby Cook & Brittany Maynard, Legacy Knoll Middle
School
Heather Backer Physical Education Grant: Jessica Lingerfelt, North Jackson Elementary School
Charlene Faulkner Community Engagement Grant: Ashley Childress, Timberlie McEver and Jennifer Wyatt, Maysville Elementary School
Secondary STEM/STEAM Grant: Vicky Noland, Jackson County High School
Elementary STEM/STEAM Grant: Jennifer Sandvig, West Jackson Elementary School
CTAE Grant: Shelly Black, Legacy Knoll Middle School
Visual & Performing Arts Grant: Carolyn Simonds, Jackson County High School
